Meet Journey

Meet Journey

Journey is a real people dog. She loves attention, has a wonderful sweet personality and needs to be a true family member. This girl, just like your typical hound, loves to explore and sniff out every corner on her travels. Journey is not recommended for living in an apartment as she can be quite verbal at times. Loving food the way she is, she is best suited for children at least 12 years old because she tends to take treats a little rough. Sweet Journey gets along with other dogs and probably could live with kitties as well. This gal would love to show you what a good girl she is.

legend, Dick Clark.  To most baby boomers, he was

an Icon of Rock 'N Roll and the Rockin' New Years Eve blasts.  To me, he was a wonderful boss, mentor and friend.  I had the pleasure of knowing Dick for over three decades and never once did he disappoint or fail to impress me with his generosity and humanity. He

deserved all his great accomplishments and shared his knowledge and abilities with anyone. All they had to do was ask.

Dick never said goodbye.  So we won't either. So long good friend.  Rest in peace.

Snuggles - The Giant Cat

I'm Snuggles - The Giant Cat

Hi! My name is Snuggles & I am the sweetest, cuddliest, love-bug big boy kitty you’ll ever meet! I am very sad though because I was just diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called ACROMEGALY. In humans it’s referred to as giantism. It’s caused by a pituitary tumor which produces excess growth hormone which causes me to have excess bone, muscle & soft tissue growth along with uncontrollable diabetes.

Basically what is happening to me is that the soft tissue in my throat area is slowly suffocating me because it’s growing so much & that scares me a lot. The best doctors at UC Davis say there is a very special radiation therapy called SRT (Stereotactic Radiation Therapy) that can help shrink my tumor & therefore stop my excess growth. My prognosis is very good with this special treatment- I can have many more years more of a good quality of life basking in the sunny window & chattering at the birds! The treatment is very, very expensive and because my condition is so rare & fascinating, UCD has generously offered to cover 1/3 of the cost but I still need $4000 more to be able to get this life saving treatment. This treatment would also help other kitties by furthering the understanding of the feline endocrine system & diseases associated with it like diabetes. If you could find it in your heart to help me live longer by donating whatever you are able to afford I would be forever & ever grateful & would dedicate all my purrs to you! If you would like to donate by Paypal, check or cash, or would like more information, please go to www.kitsandkats.org (a registered 501(c)3 Non Profit Cat Rescue or call Charisse at 916-804-8648.

THANK YOU!!!!

The Lone Marine

     THE LONE MARINE

This is the story of the "Lone Marine", Staff   Sgt.  Tim Chambers.  Each year, he stands at a memorial in Washington D.C. to welcome veterans of past wars who may not have gotten the recognition they deserved upon their return home.  He does it standing at full attention and saluting for hours on end.  A truly amazing warrior whose dedication, patriotism and caring symbolize the greatest qualities of our armed forces.  With the tenth anniversary of 9-11 here, this is a very heart warming story.

Surfin' Dog that you've got to see to believe!

I'm passing on this idea because it is simple, cheap, effective and ingenious.

I hope it is of use to you.
USE OF BOTTLE TOPS TO SEAL A BAG.....

WHO EVER THOUGHT OF THIS SHOULD GET A GREEN MEDAL

WHAT A GREAT IDEA.  NO MORE TWIST TIES OR RUBBER BANDS.  This method is WATER PROOF AND AIR TIGHT.  GREAT!  The guy who first thought of the idea should be given an award for originality!!!

Seal Plastic Bags with Old Bottle Caps

Cut up a disposable water bottle and keep the neck and top, as in photo.

Insert the plastic bag through the neck and screw the top to seal.

The bag is made air-tight, water will not leak, it is easy to open and the top and screw cap can be used over again!

This is a great idea to share.
